2019 Writing Goals

I’ve decided that 2019 will be the year I write some of the plot bunnies that have been hopping around my head for a while, and also the year that I use this journal for more than just exchange letters. More people seem to be coming over to DW since tumblr imploded, so it seems like a good time to start posting more!
In the interest of accountability, there are three fics in particular that I want to work on this year, which will all probably end up being longer, chaptered works.
My other fannish project for 2019 is to look more seriously into setting up a Tamora Pierce exchange. I think there are enough people who regularly request/offer TP works in other exchanges for it to maybe work, but I need to work out more details and drum up some interest...

- Emelan - Briar, Rosethorn and Evvy during the war
- Emelan/Tortall - Dove/Aly/Daja spy fic
- Tortall - Dove/Aly + Daine court politics in the Copper Isles.

I really want to explore the emotional impact of it on all of them more, since Will of the Empress deals with that a lot but I feel like Battle Magic doesn’t, so much.

I love Battle Magic, personally, but I also love thinking about trauma and PTSD and how it effects characters. Battle Magic doesn't deal with it much, true, but it lays the groundwork for so much? I really want to see stories about mindhealers/therapists in Emelan, tbh.
