I don't think Battle Magic has space to deal with the implications; it's too busy giving the facts.
But yeah, I agree that a lot of people don't like that book as much, and I get it -- it's a hard topic to deal with, and less light-hearted than the other books (even the ones about murderers). I love Battle Magic, personally, but I also love thinking about trauma and PTSD and how it effects characters. Battle Magic doesn't deal with it much, true, but it lays the groundwork for so much? I really want to see stories about mindhealers/therapists in Emelan, tbh.
