Sorry my letter was a little delayed! First of all, thank you so much for offering one of my pairings <3 I can't wait to see what you're going to come up with - these are all canons I've loved forever, so I'm super excited for any new fic in any of them. If you've come to this letter via the letters post, my AO3 name is also thisisthemorning :D I've requested many of these fandoms and characters before, so feel free to look back through my journal for more prompts/inspiration if you'd like!

I'm absolutely a believer in 'optional details are optional', so if none of my prompts spark your imagination, feel free to come up with something else! I just a have a few things I would love to see in general and a few things I generally don't like to read so I'll put those first of all:

In General

Likes - I'd be happy to see any of these!:
- pre- or post-canon
- happy endings (including AU/fix-it endings)
- friendships or relationships forged through sharing a dangerous situation
- hurt/comfort (including: people getting really beaten up/physically damaged/abused in some way and then being rescued by a loved one; people bravely soldiering on through illness or injury so that they don't let down their friends, winning the day, and finally being overcome by their ailment and having to be cared for, and this ultimately deepening a relationship into romance, deep friendship, or substitute parent relationship - especially if it causes a change of heart about a relationship!)

Prompts:

Alianne/Dovasary and Alianne & Dovasary:
I'd love to see an Aly/Dove relationship that develops before and after the rebellion, or one that only becomes romantic after Dove becomes queen. I love their respect for each other and the way their skills complement each other, and I would love to see that worked into the story - going to each other for advice, or helping each other through stressful times. This would equally work for a friendship fic for them! Bonding over using their brains for good would be wonderful, whether it leads to romance or deeper friendship. For romance, a secret romance between them could be fun, so they could use their espionage skills (and so on) to hide it from the court/Dove's family etc (although when they do get found out nobody is particularly surprised or angry!) I'd prefer it if you don't make any mention of Aly/Nawat :)

Kel & Alanna:
I'd love to see them getting a chance to get to know each other after Kel is knighted - maybe going on an adventure together? Or dealing with something during the Scanran War together? Feel free to include lots of appearances from Neal and Raoul, as I feel like the four of them working together would be pretty amusing - perhaps they all end up involved in something together while Kel is still a squire, but she and Alanna have a chance to get to know each other as a result?

Emelan

Pairing requested: Evumeimei Dingzai & Briar Moss & Dedicate Rosethorn

Prompts:

I love the three of them together - their mutual prickliness but also relying on each other. I really love how Briar is learning to be a teacher with Rosethorn's support! I would really love some hurt/comfort here - either in the midst of the war, or on their way home, or after they've got back to Emelan. I really like hurt/comfort where you see both the hurt (physical or emotional) and the comfort, but not hurt that initially stems from hurting each others' feelings please! Feel free to bring in any other Emelan characters you'd like, I love all of them (but I'd prefer no sibling!cest!).

White Boots

Pairing requested: Harriet Johnson/Lalla Moore

Prompts: I've loved this book for a long, long time, and most of all the relationship between Harriet and Lalla. I would love to see their lives and friendship (or more!) post-canon! I absolutely ship them (as adults) but I would love to see anything about their relationship and its growth as they grow older, whether as friends or realising that they feel something more for each other.

I have so many questions about what happened next after the book ended, if you'd like some ideas: do they both end up doing the things predicted for them at the end of the book (Lalla becoming a show skater and Harriet a professional figure skater), or does something else come along and get in the way of that? How do they deal with their feelings for each other alongside their feelings about their careers? Maybe one of them is more successful than the other, or their careers force them to live far away from each other and they struggle to stay connected, but are able to overcome that in the end... What if Harriet makes it to the Olympics? How would Lalla react?

Basically I just love the idea of Aly, Dove, and Daja having adventures together in some combination, whether shippy or not. I would love a story where Aly (with or without Dove) travels to Emelan as Dove's spymaster, or Daja travels to the Copper Isles on her journeys as a smith-mage, and they meet. I would love to see anything about them getting to know each other and falling for each other - letters, repeated chance meetings, electric attraction, stolen kisses in the palace, ending up on the same ship... It would be awesome to see Daja getting drawn into Aly's spy intrigues, too!

Tortall - Tamora Pierce

Signup details: Kel, Trick or Treat, fanfiction

Prompts: Kel is probably my favourite Tamora Pierce character, because I think we really see her grow into herself through the series, and she's portrayed as someone who has a lot of strengths but also has character flaws to overcome or learn to deal with. No matter how many Kel fics I read, I always, always want more! I would love to see any of the following (alone or in combination):

- Kel strengthening her relationship with any of the authority figures in her life, ideally post-canon - particularly Raoul, Wyldon, or Alanna. Maybe facing a new challenge with them, or helping each other through some danger or difficulty as equals and adults rather than as teacher/student? A mentor/mentee power dynamic is fine - I just like the idea of seeing more of the shift in those relationships in Kel's adulthood.
- Kel learning how to be a better commander, maybe trying to do the 'stubborn lone hero' thing one last time to protect those she loves, but ultimately learning that sometimes you have to let other people face danger too?
- Kel hurt/comfort - I love Kel's stoicism and stubborness in the face of danger, even when she gets hurt - she definitely does the 'carrying on despite being injured and facing terrible odds' thing well! Still, I would also love to see the aftermath of that - when she's won, and her friends make her sit down and be cared for.
- Any story showing what happens next, post-canon, for Kel. What adventures does she face? Does she still feel she has to prove herself? How do her relationships grow and change?

I don't mind if Kel ends up in a romantic relationship with someone as part of the story (although I'd prefer not to see canon ships be broken up) but for this fandom I'd rather the story wasn't focused on romance. I've also read all of the Tortall books, so feel free to mention details from across the Tortall universe!

Things I would love: Kel character growth; cameos from Nealan, Wyldon, Raoul, Alanna, or Kel's animal friends; adventures! danger! excitement!

Things I wouldn't enjoy so much: romance-centered fic, Kel being portrayed as helpless or always having to be rescued, crack

Chronicles of Narnia - C. S. Lewis

Signup details: Susan Pevensie, Trick or Treat, fanfiction

Prompts: Susan was always my favourite character in the Narnia books, and while there are many Susan "character study"-type fics out there, I can never get enough of them! I always found her to be a very strong character, who stands up for what she believes in, which is why her siblings' impressions of her reasons for not wanting to talk about Narnia always struck me as wrong - I feel like she probably didn't want to talk about it because she knew she needed to focus on the future, rather than because she didn't believe it had ever happened, but also found doing so painful in the way that leaving childhood behind can sometimes be.

I'd therefore really love to see a closer look at Susan's life post-Narnia:
- how does she deal with the death of her siblings?
- Does she ever try to go back to Narnia? (Maybe even an AU where she does find her way to Narnia again!)
- Does she ever encounter Aslan outside of Narnia? (maybe she has a few things she wants to say to him).
- a crossover could also work here, if you like those! I'd love to see Susan encounter other magical worlds - for example, Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, or BtVS.
- maybe at the end of her life Susan gets a chance to go back to the Narnia of her youth - what does she do there? how does this affect her?

You're welcome to give Susan a romance as part of the story, but I wouldn't really like that to be the main focus, and I'd also really like cameos from other Narnia characters (I don't mind at all which ones!)

Things I would love: cameos from other Narnia characters, references to time-period specific things in the real world (ie in the 50s, 60s, 70s etc), a character study of Susan

Things I wouldn't enjoy so much: a story that focused solely on romance

Emelan – Tamora Pierce

Characters requested: Daja Kisubo, Trick or Treat, fanfiction

Signup details: I've re-read the all the Emelan books multiple times, and I really enjoy how much we see of Briar, Rosethorn, and Evvy's travels. I'd love to see Daja's travels or experiences fleshed out more than in the books - or perhaps Daja's travels post-canon. Perhaps this could involve travelling with the Traders some more, so that she can explore her heritage with all its contradictions. I'd also love to see her get the opportunity to explore her sexuality, either pre- or post- Will of the Empress.

Generally, any scenario where Daja has to get through a dangerous adventure would be wonderful - and if you want to bring in her siblings, or Frostpine, Lark, or Rosethorn, that would be awesome too! I love stories where characters succeed against the odds, especially if they're fighting through trauma of some kind to do so! (injury, terrifying experiences, fear for loved ones, etc), and I also love the times in the books where characters team up to work magic together that they can't do on their own.

Alternatively, I'd love to see Daja facing up to some of the aspects of her past as a Trader, then trangshi, then a Trader again, that she hasn't yet dealt with or faced up to.

Things I would love: Trader references/words, mentoring, character growth, Daja discovering her sexuality more, magical workings, a focus on The Circle Reforged era, cameos from the other characters, Daja mind-speaking with her friends

Things I wouldn't enjoy so much: anything super fluffy, because I don’t think it fits with the characters or the canon, or ship!fic between Daja and any male character
